Located minutes away from the Laguna Woods Village real estate area, the Sawdust Arts and Crafts Festival takes place each summer. Artists display their efforts in a variety of styles. From water color to ceramics, leather works to jewelry there is something for one and all. Workshops and demonstrations inspire budding artists. Favorite exhibits include the glassblower and ceramics wheel. A variety of classes are available on site throughout the festival dates and even during the year for those who are interested.

Embrace Local History on Lake Forest Property

History of Mission Viejo

The history of Mission Viejo began in 1845, when John “Don Juan” Forster acquired Rancho La Paz and Mission San Juan Capistrano. These properties were added to his 1843 purchase of Rancho Trabuco. Much later, in 1864, Forster was able to acquire Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores to his holdings. With that purchase he became one of the largest landowners in the state, with holdings totaling about 200,000 acres.
